Recently, here at New Town Dental Care we welcomed blogger Blu Blazer Guy (AKA Scott McGlashan) through our doors to try out our teeth whitening experience.

During his first appointment, Scott met with our dentist and surgery partner, Derek Swan, in a search for the best whitening experience for him. Through examination and evaluation of the patient’s lifestyle and objectives, here at New Town Dental Care we are able to pick specialised treatments for each of our customers. This consultation is key to our work as we are able to gain an in-depth understanding of what our customers want from their experience and how we can best provide it for them. In this case, we decided upon the Philips Zoom NiteWhite treatment for Scott.

This simple yet effective treatment allows the customer to have one simple session at the surgery, following which they will leave with an at-home kit to continue the process. This kit includes custom-made trays which are used to apply whitening gel from pre-filled syringes, each night for three weeks. These at-home dentistry kits allow our patients to continue with the whitening process in the comfort of their home as well as remove the hassle of regular appointments at the surgery. Quick, easy and perfect for busy people!

Impressions will be taken of your teeth in order to create the trays, each specially made for the customer by our dentists. Following this, appointments will be simply to track the whitening process, requiring only a small portion of time compared to other whitening techniques used within the industry. As Scott found, a small amount of sensitivity during the process is completely normal, however the final result will leave no difference to your overall oral health at all - the only reminder being a brighter smile!

It is recommended that throughout this process patients avoid all dark and highly pigmented food and drink in order to obtain the desired outcome. The surgery remains on call at all times throughout the duration of the whitening process, allowing all customers to enquire with any questions if they are ever to arise.
